We cary seats by Brooks, Serfas.
We want you to ride! That is why we have our Comfort Guaranteed Seat Policy.
If the Serfas seat you buy isn't comfortable, then you can exchange it for another model. Damaged seats will not be exchanged.
The policy does not apply to Brooks saddles. Buying a Brooks saddle is a different expereince and is a leap of faith that it will be comfortable in the long run. Somewhat like a quality pair of leather shoes. If you buy a Brooks, you won't be sorry!
We prefer Obenauf's LP over Brooks Proofhide. Every Brooks we sell, we pre-treat with Obenauf's LP Oil. This one time treatment, softens the leather and shortens the break-in period. Leather is skin and needs you to give it the moisture the cow once did! Obenauf's comes in 1 ounce tubs and we offer refills.
Brooks Saddle Repair and Reconditioning.
Very old and dry leather saddles can sometimes be reconditioned. Treatment and/or reforming can take up to 3 weeks.
We also offer rail and rivet replacement. See the pictures below for example of repaird saddles.
If you do not live in Seattle, we offer this service by mail: email info@rideyourbike.com Send pictures of the top and bottom of your saddle. We will get back to you with a quote.
As a general guildline, rail assemblies cost between $15 and $45. Small parts vary in cost (quote only). Rail/chassis replacement labor cost a base price of $50 for up to 6 rivets (plus $1.49 for each rivet). We only use copper rivets, usually genuine Brooks, but the most hardware stores sell them and you may get those instead. It depends on what fits. Chrome rivets are not available at this time. Washington state tax will be charged because the labor is performed in Seattle. Shipping is usually about $10 or less to get your saddle back to you (lower 48 states). Allow 2 weeks time from the time we get the saddle to the time we ship it back. We accept Paypal or Money Orders. Get a quote from us before you ship your saddle!
